    Hello Timothy! In order to do this, you break the factors up into expanded form. These numbers in expanded form would be 10+4 and 10+9. After you break up your numbers, you put it int a box. This box has four squares. On the top of the box you would write 10+4 and on the left side of the box going vertically you write 10+9. Now its time to start multiplying. 10x10 is 100 and you write this in the top left box. Now, 10x4 is 40 and you write 40 in the top right box. Next, 9x10 is 90 and you write that in the bottom left box. After this, 9x4 is 36 so you write 36 in the remaining box. Now you add all of the answers together. 100+90+40+36 = 266 which is your answer. I hope that I answered your question!
