What is the only function that allows us to pull the variable out of the exponent?

    Answer: isolate the exponent term on one side of the equation, and then apply the appropriate radical to both sides of the equation.

    Answer: log function

    The rule is log (x^y) = y*log (x)

    The exponent y is pulled down and placed as a coefficient, so to speak.
