Square both sides
i = sqrt (-1)
i^2 = [ sqrt (-1) ]^2
i^2 = - 1
Now multiply both sides by i
i^2 = - 1
i*i^2 = i (-1)
i^3 = - i
Final Answer: - i
(this is negative i)
