The cost of an adult ticket was $45.50.

A child ticket was 8/10 of the price of an adult ticket.

To calculate 1/10 of a value, you do the value divided by 10.

    $45.50 / 10 = $4.55

8/10 of a value is 1/10 of the value multiplied by 8.

    $4.55 * 8 = $36.40

    The child ticket was $36.40.
