    8000 dollars for 400 yds

    Step-by-step explanation:

    We need to find the perimeter

    P = 2 (l+w) where l is the length and w is the width

    P = 2 (400+200)

    P = 2 (600)

    P = 1200 ft

    Change from feet to yards

    3 ft = 1 yd

    P = 1200 ft * 1 yd / 3ft = 400 yd

    Now each yd is 20 dollars so multiply by 20

    400 * 20 = 8000 dollars

    (see below)

    Step-by-step explanation:

    given that the playground is in the shape of a rectangle where

    Length = 400 ft and Width = 200 ft

    Perimeter = Length + Length + Width + Width

    = 400 + 400 + 200 + 200

    = 1200 feet long

    We also know that 1 ft = (1/3) yard

    hence 1200 feet = 1200 x (1/3) = 400 yards

    We are given that fencing cost $20 for each yard.

    Hence for 400 yards, the total fencing cost will be

    = $20 per yard x 400 yards

    = 20 x 400

    = $8000
