Solve the system algebraiclly 3x - 2y - 1 = 0 y = 5x + 4

    You're already given what y is so just substitute it in and solve

    3x-2 (5x+4) - 1=0

    Distribute

    3x-10x-8-1=0

    Add like terms

    -7x-9=0

    Add 9 to both sides

    -7x=9

    Divide both sides by - 7

    x=-9/7
