    Step-by-step explanation:

    high temperature - low temperature = 25

    high temperature - (-8) = 25

    {when subtracting negative numbers, we have to add the additive inverse of (-8). Additive inverse of (-8) is 8}

    high temperature + 8 = 25

    {Subtract 8 form both the sides}

    high temperature + 8 - 8 = 25 - 8

    high temperature = 25 - 8

    high temperature = 17 degree Fahrenheit
