Solve for x. 8 (x + 1) - 3 (x + 4) = 7 (2 - x)

    8 (x + 1) - 3 (x + 4) = 7 (2-x)

    8*x + 8*1 - 3*x - 3*4 = 7*2 - 7*x

    8x + 8 - 3x - 12 = 14 - 7x

    8x - 3x + 7x = 14 - 8 + 12

    12x = 18

    x = 18/12

    x = 3/2

    x = 1.5
