    First, we need to know the formula for the slope of the roof. The formula is the following

    Pitch = Rise / Run

    Slope of the roof is referred to the ratio of the vertical measurement which is the rise to horizontal measurement which is the run. Using the given above let's find the pitch of the roof.

    Given: Rise = 8 ft Run = 12 ft

    Slope = Rise/Run

    = 8 ft / 12 ft

    = 0.67 ft or 8.04 inches

    The slope is 0.67 ft or 8.04 inches.
