The high temperature one day was 30°F. Then

the temperature dropped 23 degrees during the

night. Does the expression 30 + (-23) represent

the temperature at night? Explain.

    Yes because when you subtract a number, you can also say that you added a negative. So if it dropped 23 degrees, then you also added - 23 degrees
