If a = 3 and b = 5, what is the value of a 2 + b 2?

    I'm guessing you mean a squared plus b squared.

    So then it'd be 3^2 + 5^2 or a simple equation of 9 + 25

    Hardest part - - - > 9 + 25 = 34

    A²+b² = 3*3 + 5*5 = 9 + 25 = 34
