Solve using a proportion. Round to the nearest hundredth.

A 9-meter flagpole casts a 7-meter shadow. The cell tower next to the flagpole is 16.2 meters tall. How many meters long is the cell tower's shadow?

    9 / 7 = 16.2 / x

    x is the towers shadow

    9x / 7 = 16.2

    9x = 113.4

    x = 12.6

    The cell tower's shadow is 12.6 meters long.
