    This is the concept of trigonometry, to get the horizontal length we use the formula:

    cos θ = (Adjacent) / (hypotenuse)

    θ=6°

    adjacent=x

    hypotenuse=170m

    thus the value of x will be:

    x/170=cos6

    hence:

    x=170 cos 6

    x=169.06872 meters

    Answer: 169.06872 m
