    Distribute the 2

    8 + 4x > = 5x + 5

    Subtract 5x from both sides

    8 - x > = 5

    Subtract 8 from both sides

    - x > = - 3

    Divide both sides by - 1

    When dividing by a negative, change the inequality sign.

    x < = 3
