    In its 1st year: n = 900 (store sells 900 hats).

If the number in the 2nd year is 50% higher, that means it will be 150% of the hats that are sold in the previous year:

    n * 1.5 = 900 * 1.5 = 1,350 hats.

Answer: A hat store will sell 1,350 hats in its second year.
