Two sides of an equilateral triangle measure (2y+3) units and (y^2 - 5) units. if the perimeter of the triangle is 33 units, what's the value of y?

    The answer would be - 17y.

    Multiply 2y+3 by three to make the sides of the triangle. Then set that equal to 33. This should give you y.

    3 (2y+3) = 6y+9. 6y+9=33 6y=24 y=4
