6 stools and 4 chairs cost $58 but 5 stools and 2 chairs cost $35 find the coast of each stool and each chair

    Let s = price of stools

    Let c = price of charis

    6s + 4c = $58 - Equation 1

    5s + 2c = $35 - Equation 2

    Take Equation 2 from Equation 1: s + 2c = $23 - Equation 3

    Take Equation 3 from Equation 2: 4s = $12

    Therefore, s = $3

    Sub s into Equation 2: $15 + 2c = $35

    2c = $20

    c = $10

    Therefore, a chair costs $10, a stool costs $3
