A bag is full of green and red balloons. The

ratio of green balloons to red balloons is 2:5.

There are 84 balloons in the bag, How many

balloons are red?

    Unknown constant = x

    Number of green balloons = 2x

    Number of red balloons = 5x

    2x + 5x = 84

    7x = 84

    x = 12

    Number of red balloons = 5 x 12 = 60 balloons
