    Let x = - b/2a Expand f (x). f (x) = - 2 (x-4) ^2+2 f (x) = - 2 (x^2 - 8x + 16) + 2 f (x) = - 2x^2 + 16x - 32 + 2 f (x) = - 2x^2 + 16x - 30 Let a = - 2 and b = 16 Plug into x = - b/2a to find your axis of symmetry. x = - (16) / 2 (-2) x = - 16/-4 x = 4 The axis of symmetry is x = 4.
