First let us determine how many we need for 540 people (assuming the ratio is per person)

    540 x (3:2:4)

    buns : patties : pickles

    1620 : 1080 : 2160

Divide each one by the pakage size

packets of buns : packets of patties : jars of pickles

    1620 / 8 : 1080 / 12 : 2160 / 18

    = 202.5 : 90 : 120

Round the non-whole number up since we cannot have a fractional bun:

packets of buns : packets of patties : jars of pickles

    203 : 90 : 120
