Explain why the inverse of y=3x^2 is not a square root function.

    The inverse of the expression will be as follows

    y=3x²

    We make x the subject

    y/3=x²

    get the square root of both sides

    √ (y/3) = √x²

    thus

    x=√ (y/3)

    replace y by x and x by f^-1 (x), the inverse will be:

    f^-1 (x) = √ (y/3)
