Sales tax on an item is directly proportional to the cost of the item purchased. if the tax on a $600 item is $42, what is the sales tax on a $930 item?

    Sales tax is $42 on a $600 item, so

    sales tax rate = 42/600 = 7%

    Tax on $930 item

    =$930 * sales tax rate

    =$930*7%

    =$65.10
