All you have to do is divide 2 by 1/4 to get how many pieces of board you can get.

2 divided by 1/4 is the same thing as 2 times 4,

    so

    2*4 = 8

    8 pieces

To solve this, you would divide 2 feet by 1/4 foot.

    2 / (1/4) is the same as 2*4 which equals 8

You can cut 8 1/4-foot pieces from a 2-foot board
