The equation to represent the amount of apple left is 20 - (8 + 6 + 3) pounds.

    Explanation:

Number of apples = 20 pounds

2 batches of apple sauce uses 4 pounds each of apples

    So,

amount of apples used in apple sauce = 2 X 4 pounds

    = 8 pounds

1 batch of apple butter uses 6 pounds of apples

Apple juice requires 3 pounds of apples

    Amount of apple left = 20 - (8 + 6 + 3) pounds

    = 3 pounds

Amount of apple left is 3 pounds

Therefore, the equation to represent the amount of apple left is 20 - (8 + 6 + 3) pounds.
