True or false:

The median of a data set is always one of the data values.

    Mostly. The middle number of the data is the median (set should be in order). If there are more than one middle numbers, then they are not the median but the average of those numbers are the median.

    This is not necassary that average is always present in the listed information.

    False ... not always

    if u have an odd number of data values, then the median (middle number) will be one of the data values.

    But ... if u have an even number of data values, then the median will be 2 numbers ... add those 2 numbers together and divide by 2 and that will be ur median.

    Example : 2,4,6,8 ... median is 2 numbers (4 and 6) ... add them and divide by 2 = 5 ... so ur median is 5 (not a data value)
