The length of the sides of a hexagon are (x-5) degrees, (2x) degrees, (2x) degrees, (2x+7) degrees, (2x) degrees and (2x-1) degrees. If the perimeter is 144cm, find the value of x.

    144 = (x-5) + (2x) + (2x) + (2x+7) + (2x) + (2x-1)

    144 = x - 5 + 2x + 2x + 2x + 7 + 2x + 2x - 1

    Collect like terms

    144 = 11x + 1

    143 = 11x

    143 / 11 = x

    x = 13cm
