You have just completed a between-subjects experiment in which you will compare two groups. you notice that group 1 (n=27) has a mean=3.7 and group 2 (n=25) has a mean=2.2. one underlying assumption of our independent samples t-test is: σ_1^2 = σ_2^2 σ_1^2 σ_2^2 none of the above

    The independent samples t-tests requires the assumption of homogeneity of variance which mean both the two groups have the same variance.

    so,

    σ₁² = σ₂²
