    In this case the slope is - 1 and the intercept is - 2.

    The reason for this is that when the slope is - 1 we usually don't write the - 1 in the actual equation. This is so because - 1x is the same as - x. While - x - x would be - 2x.

    The slope tells you how sharply your function will fall or rise if you were to draw it.
