A circle is inscribed in a square whose side is 6. Express the area of the circle in terms of PI.

    Since the side of the square is 6, the diameter is therefore 6 (since the diameter is how long the circle is). The radius is diameter/2=3, and since the area of a circle is pir^2, we have 3^2*pi=9π as our area
