Isaac wants to join a gym. He checked out the memberships fees at two gyms.

Gym A charges a new member fee of $65 and $20 per month.

Gym B charges a new member fee of $25 and $35 per month, but Isaac will get a discount of 20% on the monthly fee.

    A=65+20m

    B=25+35 (0.8) m

    set each and solve

    65+20m=25+35 (0.8) m

    65+20m=25+28m

    minus 20m both sides

    65=25+8m

    minus 25 both sides

    40=8m

    divide both sides by 8

    5=m

    after 5 months

    the cost will be 165
