Joan wants to buy a rug for a room that is 11 feet by 16 feet. She wants to leave a uniform strip of floor around the rug. She can afford 66 square feet of carpeting. What dimensions should the rug have?

    It should have 110 because she can only afford 66 and so 176 - 66 = 110 so it should be 110
