    The length of rectangular garden is 31 feet and width of rectangular garden is 8 feet

    Solution:

    Given that perimeter of the garden is 78 feet

    Also given that length of a rectangular garden is 7 feet more than three times it width

    Let the length of rectangle be "L"

    Let the width of rectangle be "W"

    According to gven information,

    length of a rectangular garden = 7 + 3 (width of rectangle)

    L = 7 + 3W

    The perimeter of rectangle is given as:

    perimeter of rectangle = 2 (length + width)

    78 feet = 2 (7 + 3W + W)

    78 = 2 (7 + 4W)

    78 = 14 + 8W

    78 - 14 = 8W

    64 = 8W

    W = 8

    Thus width of rectangular garden = 8 feet

    length of a rectangular garden = L = 7 + 3W

    L = 7 + 3 (8) = 7 + 24 = 31

    Thus length of rectangular garden = 31 feet
