The triangular bases of a triangular prism have three congruent sides, each measuring 10 centimeters. The height of each of the triangular bases is approximately 8.7 centimeters. The height of the prism is 15 centimeters. What is the approximate surface area of the prism?

    The surface area of a triangular base prism is given by:

    SA=bh+l (a+b+c)

    base=10 cm

    a=10 cm

    c=10cm

    height=8.7 cm

    length=15 cm

    Thus,

    SA=8.7*10+15 (10+10+10)

    SA=87+15 (30)

    SA=87+450

    SA=537 cm^2
