In a 3/4 mile relay race, each runner runs 1/16 mile. How many runners are in the race?

    They will total cover 3/4

    1/16 times x runners=3/4

    times both sides by 16/1

    x runners=48/4

    x runners=12

    12 runners

    Twelve runners because if you take three-fourths times four you will get twelve-sixteenths. and each runner runs one-sixteenth so it is twelve.
