    Answer

    8x-4y=12; subtract 8x from both sides

    -8x+8x-4y=12-8x; the 8x on the left side "zeroes out"

    -4y=-8x+12; move the inverse of - 4 to both sides leaving y alone on the left.

    (-1/4) - 4y = (-8x/-4) + (12/-4) - -> same as (-1/4) (-4Y) = (-8X+12) / -4: simplify

    y=2x-3

    Standard y=1

    Slope Intercept y=2x-3

    Step-by-step explanation:

    -3y = - 3

    divide both sides by - 3

    y=1

    8x-4y=12

    move variable to the right - 4y=12-8x

    divide both sides by 4 y = - 3+2x
