    Formula: A=L*W

    3/5 = 7/8*W

    7/8 divide both sides

    W = 0.6857 of 24/35

    Area = legnth times width

    area=3/5

    legnth=7/8

    width=?

    so

    3/5=7/8 times?

    multiply both sides by 8/7 to clear fraction (7/8 times 8/7=56/56=1 and 1 times?=? so)

    24/35=?

    the width=24/35 mile
