We can use a proportion to solve this.

    (20 notebooks / $10) = (x amount of notebooks / $16)

We'll solve for x by multiply 20 and 16 and dividing by 10

    20*16=320

    320/10=32

    She could buy 32 notebooks

    32

    20 notebooks for $10 ... they were 2 for $1

    16x 2 is 32
