    482 gallons

    Step-by-step explanation:

if the total amount in the pool is 500 gallons and it is leaking at - 3 gallons per hour then we can solve for how much it has lost in 6 hours by using this equation:

    -3 (amount loss per hour) x 6 (number of hours) = - 18

Now we do 500 (total) - 18 (amount lost in 6 hours) = 482 gallons

Which means there are 482 gallons of water left after 6 hours.
