The student nurse is learning about the pathophysiology of lead poisoning in children. Where in the body does lead ultimately settle, remaining inert and in storage?

    Lead would be thought to settle in the liver which is the bodies organ for cleaning itself. The lead would be carried in the bloodstream where the liver would act as a storage place where the metal would remain inert in small enough amounts so as not to be toxic.
