    R+s=5.5

    R-s=2.5

    Adding both

    2r=8

    R=4

    S=5.5-4=1.5

    Let the cost of soap be x,

    cost of razors = x + 2.5

    total cost = 2x + 2.5

    2x + 2.5 = 5.5

    2x = 3

    x = 1.5

    cost of razors = 1.5 + 2.5

    = 4

    The cost of the packet of razors and bar of soap is £4.00 and £1.50 respectively.
