The product of two integers is + 286. What is the other integer if one of them is - 3? show your work.

    The other integer is 289. To solve first make the equation:

    x+y=286

    Then you can plug in - 3 into one of the variables (it doesn't matter which one you choose)

    x-3=286

    Then solve for x by adding 3 to both sides of the equation getting you 289
