There are 3 members in each division.

    Let's Break it Down:

    3 Divisions

    Total Fund = $1,200

    4 Quarters

    Each member got $316

Plus the 3 x 4 = 12 < because, every member of the company contributed the number of dollars equal to the number of members.

    Solving:

    1,200 / 3 = 400

    400 / 4 = 100

    316 / 100 = 3.16 (Approximately 3)
