A local newspaper compiles data on the number of days, X, people in a neighborhood receive the newspaper. The probability distribution for the data is shown in the table below. What is the probability that a randomly chosen person receives the newspaper at least one day per week?

    P (x) 17% 16% 14% 12% 41%

    Where x is number of days that a person receives the newspaper per week

    and P (x) is the probability that a person will receive the newspaper according to the number of days per week

    We are asked for the probability that a person receives the newspaper at least one day per week

    So,

    16% + 14% + 12% + 41%

    = 83%

    There is 83% probability that a person will receive the newspaper at least one day per week.
