    Slope intercept form is y=mx + b where b is the y-coordinate.

    2x = 12 + 2y subtract 2y from both sides

    -2y + 2x = 12 subtract 2x from both sides

    -2y = 12 - 2x arrange them in order of y=mx+b

    -2y = - 2x + 12 divide both sides by - 2 (to reduce and have positive y value)

    y = 1x - 6
