Tammy is estimating how much she should charge for painting 98 rooms in a new motel with one coat of base paint and coat of finishing paint. The four walls and the ceiling of each room must be painted. Each room measures 14 ft by 18ft by 11ft high. Calculate the total area of all surfaces to be painted with each coat.

    93,688 square feet need to be painted.

    ceiling = 14*18 = 252

    width wall = (18*11) * 2 = (198) * 2

    length wall = (14*11) * 2 = (154) * 2

    308+396+252=956 square ft. for one room

    956*98=93,688 square feet.
