Carver jogs four times a wee. Last week, his distances were 4 1/3, 3 1/2, 3 5/6 and 4 1/6, all measured in miles. What was Carver's average distance for the 4 days? Express your answer as a mixed number.

    First, it have to change them so that they have common denominators. You would change the denominators to 6.

    Your new fractions are:

    4 2/6, 3 3/6, 3 5/6, 4 1/6.

    Now you add them all together. When you add all of them, you end up with: 14 11/6. You would have to change this to 15 5/6.

    Therefore, his average distance was 15 5/6 (I think?).
