    Cows and goats have 4 leggs each

    so

    c=cows

    g=goats

    c=2g

    4c+4g=1116

    4 (c+g) = 1116

    divide 2nd equation by 4

    c+g=279

    sub 2g for c

    2g+g=279

    3g=279

    divide both sides by 3

    g=93

    93 goats
