    In this case, the way the negative was distributed for the - 5 is incorrect. So instead of - 2+5, it's saying that - 2-5 is the same as - 2 + - 5, Which is isn't in this case. So the error here is the distribution of the - (-5).

    The correct way is this:

    -2 - (-5)

    -2+5 = 3
