    4,257 m²

    Step-by-step explanation:

    step 1

    Find the lateral area of the rectangular prism (ottoman)

    The lateral area is

    LA=PH

    where

    P is the perimeter of the base

    H is the height of the prism

    Find the perimeter of the base P

    P=2 (37+21) = 116 cm

    we have H=30 cm

    Find the lateral area

    LA=116 (30) = 3,480 m²

    step 2

    Find the area of the top of the ottoman

    B=37*21=777 m²

    step 3

    we know that

    The fabric needed to cover the sides and top of the ottoman is equal to sum the lateral area plus the area of the top

    3,480+777=4,257 m²
