    y^2

    Step-by-step explanation:

    2y^3 + y^2 and 4y^4 + 2y^3

    2y^3 + y^2 ... factor out y^2

    y^2 (2y + 1)

    4y^4 + 2y^3 ... factor out y^2

    y^2 (4y^2 + 2y)

I would normally factor out 2y^3 out of this one ... but u cant do it in the other one ... the only common factor is gonna be y^2

the common factor is y^2 <===
